pixelNation was a community of web developers and designers, active from 2007–2012.
pN was never the epicenter of the internet, but it had its moment. Several prominent
“PSP Portals” came out of here, including iPSP by ChrisTek, which put an
iOS-like experience on the PlayStation Portable.
PSP Portals were a fun way to experience customized, desktop-like experiences on the PSP web
browser. Essentially, a little webOS!
In the aftermath of the hype, the community relaxed into a general meme and technology board.
Those were the true glory days of pN: just a handful of teenagers shitposting.
And that’s where I came in! I found pixelNation in 2008 as an excitable 14-year-old
Photoshop kiddie. This forum is where I participated in some of my first collaborations, helping
to build the DSP Portal. It would kick off a lifetime of designing
and building.
So I did the only thing that felt appropriate: I bought the name, resurrected the site from the
Wayback Machine, and preserved as much of our history here as possible.
To the guys. Yongo, Ziggy, Eduardo, Chris… Revilo, Evancox (lulz)… here are your
flowers.
If you see this, have fun sifting through brilliance and degeneracy in equal measure.
It’s only a small slice, but it still feels… like home.

pixelNation Supports the 'No Clean Feed'

The Australian Federal Government is pushing forward with a plan to force Internet Service Providers [ISPs] to censor the Internet for all Australians. This plan will waste tens of millions of taxpayer dollars and slow down Internet access.
Despite being almost universally condemned by the public, ISPs, State Governments, Media and censorship experts, Communications Minister Stephen Conroy is determined to force this filter into your home.
Although the final details of the filtering plans have been kept under wraps, the Minister is on record as being firmly committed to a mandatory clean-feed internet to Australian homes, schools and public computers. A trial of filtering software by the ACMA has already been performed, with a "live" field pilot to follow later this year. We must act fast before millions of dollars are squandered on this technically impractical and democratically unworkable solution in search of a problem.
pixelNation supports the 'No Clean Feed' campaign and strongly suggests all Australians of pixelNation to take part in it too. You can find out what you can do to help here, or you can simply sign the online petition here. Fight for your rights, stop internet censorship in Australia.

Time of the year has come again, and like every year we've got new additions to the pixelShop for the holiday season! Start saving or earning pixels by posting more or by referring new members! There's a lot planned.. and yes there will be cake and candy for all!
The portal everyone has been anticipating will also be released on Christmas in the pixelShop! Stock for Candy WILL be limited so start saving your pixels, as it will be a big seller. You can discuss more about Candy in the forums, or if you have a suggestion to make before the release don't hesitate to do so.
pixelPLUS will be making a comeback and all members interested should register their interests in the pixelPLUS thread. Again, spots are limited and we suggest if you are wanting to join, register now and tell your friends about it. Registrants must be active till launch date, and we won't accept 'trolls'. It's a great program for portal developers, graphics enthusiasts and even coders.
Did I ever tell you that I (Ziggy Huang) am Asian?
