So - when you use a touchpad, do you click or tap?

For me it depends which computer i use.

When I'm actually doing a design, I'll use a mouse, just because touchpads like to jump around sometimes and I can't have that while I'm lining up pixels.

Otherwise, I click, because TAPPING FUCKING SUCKS. 'nough said. I hate working on computers where people haven't disabled the tapping. I'm trying to move the mouse somewhere, but I "click" a few things along the way that I have to exit out of. Annoying!

Tapping annoys me, for the same reasons Chris said.

Ugh. I HATE tapping (except for...you know ;-)) It gets really annoying when I'm trying to move an icon across the screen when I either let go of it or start it. Clickin' FTW

i like tapping, but only becuase pretty much everything i have has a toucscreen.

and my mouse buttons make a really loud clicking noise, and i like quiet. so thats also why.

i only click when im doing something in photoshop or something like that.

My new MacBook's Mouse button makes the loudest noise ever when i click it. I tap on my macbook, but i like HP style mouse buttons, they are the only type i actually click.

Dell's newer models, (I want to say 6000 and newer?) have soft mouse buttons as well. Mine are really loud, but it doesn't bother me after about six years of using various laptops.

My Macbook doesn't make a loud noise unless you click really hard. Maybe you are just an aggressive clicker

For design I use a Wacom Tablet but for anything else I use the clicker. Its so funny when my Socials teacher trys to use a touchpad on a laptop, she prefers to tap but she can never get it to work so she ends up hammering on the touchpad, the poor laptop. I'm guessing by the end of the year she will have pounded a hole right though the laptop.
