Hmm, anyone know how I can get firmware 1.1.2 for my iPod touch, jailbroken, and still retain the apps on my iPod?

shouldn't be much different just a you will need to use a different program to run the shell commands, or i think there is an app can't remember the name of the top of my head that lets you run shell script from the ipod touch.

Batch files are designed specifically for Windows...

i decided not to get a ipod touch...
i found something much better...
it's called archos 605 i comes in 4 different models 4gb, 30gb, 80gb and a 160gb...
im going to get the 80 or 160 for xmas...
the 80 cost $320 (pretty much same as touch after shipping for this and tax on touch)
the 160 cost 345 (10x the memory of 16gb and $60 less)
it has a dvr adapter it comes with so i can record stuff straight from my tv or dvd player
the screen is 4.3" and touch is 3.5"
the battery in this last 17 hours music 5.5 hours video and touch last 22 music 5 video (i will probable be watching videos more than listening to music...)
it has 800x480 pixels in the 4.3" screen
it can download music and videos through their store just like the itunes store and it can go on the internet just like touch but this has a bigger screen so  you dont have to do as much zooming and junk
it can have widgets and the browser is a opera browser

My friend has that, its pretty cool but personally I think the iPod Touch looks WAY more sleek. BTW if your going to get the archos I highly recommend getting the dock for it.

Oh those archos things are pretty cool. at a mountain bike camp out in October a guy had one and he had a helmet came hooked up to it and had alot of footage from some rides. It's pretty cool but Ipod touch looks nicer IMO.
