Can someone teach me how to make apps in Visual Basic? I'm trying to make a laptop alarm. Some goals.

Alarm sounds if:
 
  Disc Drive ejected
  Phrepirals disconnected
  A/C Adapter disconnected (if connected)
  Mouse movement
  Shutdown/Suspend

Password enabled
Splash-screen

I have never played with the AC adapter so that might be something you'll have to look up for yourself.
I can give you several API declarations you'll need for the others though.
And a splash screen is easy, same with password input

And btw, Visual Basic is not C/C++.

Are you talking about VB .NET or VB6?

And usually, the system calls for the AC adapter/battery status are loosely brand-related. EG, Dell's drivers are different than Sony's. (Not sure if they are, and I doubt it, because Sony makes Dell's batteries, but that was just an example.) Otherwise, in VB .NET, you can load the built-in includes. In VB6, you might have to do some Google-ing to find the right includes.
